Criteria for the Great Place Award

These awards salute personal quilt pages. No awards will be given to sites which primarily sell things, or which charge for admission.

Great Places have one or more of the following:

Great quilt pictures
Education and/or tips about quilts and quilting
History of quilts and quilting
Pictures of wearable art or other unique quilted items

Sites that are merely lists of links won't be considered

Design helps. In other words, graphics should be tight, and used to illustrate, not just because the web designer "could do this cool thing" with animated graphics. I don't mind waiting for good pics, but don't make my coffee get cold waiting for a 2 meg graphic to load when a small one would do. Quilt sites without graphics aren't worth a whole lot generally, but give me something to read while I wait. On the other hand, great quilt history lessons or great tips don't necessarily need pictures. Content counts!
