1999 Challenge

Welcome to the 1999 National Online Quilters Challenge. This is our 4th annual challenge, and the last one of the 1900's (or, depending on your school of thought, the last of the millenium). This is the year we contemplate what has come before us, and what is yet to come. The year of Y2k. The year of resolutions that we'll really stick to. (I heard that!) This is the year we consider the changes our guilds have gone through in the history of quilting: from barn raisings and women around the quilt frame using every tiny scrap, to cyberspace and keyboards tapping, and buying fabric to increase the stash. We are taking the quilting tradition with us into the next millenium.

This year's theme is Changes.

What changes have we had? What changes are yet to come? And not just in our quilting. The world is facing these questions. In the last century humankind has made many extreme changes, more than in any other century. So let's take this theme and let the creative juices flow.

Rules

The following rules were applied to this years challenge:

• The quilts will be wallhanging sized: no less than 12x12" and no more than 54x54"
• The quilt will somehow represent the theme Changes according to the vision of the quilter.
• The quilt must have some of the challenge fabric on the front.
• The due date for pictures of the quilts is June 1, 1999
• There will be an online show with 2 catagories: Judged and Viewers Choice, with prizes awarded to the top 3 places in each catagory.
• Anyone, at any quilting level, in any country, is welcome to join the challenge.
• The only entry fee for this challenge is the cost of your fat quarter of challenge fabric, which was once again being designed by High Moon Inspirations.
