The Mystery Bus Tour

by Katrina "momakat" Carnagey

Welcome to the Mystery Bus Tour!  I'm glad you joined us as we will be having lots of fun.  The countryside is beautiful this time of year . . . fall flowers are blooming . . . leaves are changing color . . . fields are being harvested . . . fruits and vegetables are being put up for future eating.  It is a wonderful time of the year full of color and smells.

While we are enjoying the view you should pick up some "color" for your quilt.  We will be using only three fabrics - so look around for that special combination.  You will need a medium-dark/dark-medium in a mid-range print . . . not too large and not too small as your focus fabric.  You will also need two contrasting light fabrics - same color family or different and one can be slightly darker than the other as long as there will be a good contrast with the focus fabric and with eachother.

The instructions given are for a lap quilt with twin figures in parentheses (yardage includes border and binding as well as a little extra for trimming the cutting edges).  When cutting your strips remember to keep the cutting edge true (see my hints page).  Always use an accurate and consistent 1/4" seam.  Where needed you will be advised to use a scant 1/4" seam.

Take your time and have fun on your search.  We will meet again in 2 weeks for the next part of our journey.  I look forward to seeing you again.
