Mysterybus Tour Part 6 - Simplicity

This part is so simple I am just putting a small note here. It's time to take your color 1, 6 1/2" strips, and subcut them into 6 1/2" blocks. You need 9 (20) each of these squares. We are almost ready now . . . not long to wait to see what we are putting together. You have done really good getting this far and we are almost done.

Mysterybus Tour Part 7 - Putting it all Together

Well . . . we made it to the end of a long journey together. I hope you have enjoyed travelling with me and maybe learning something new, as well as expanding your horizons. *VBG* There have been some bumps along the way that you were very patient with. Thank you for sticking with me to the end.

As the holidays are upon us things have been crazy here as with so many others and some things were put on hold. Too many things were put on hold as far as I'm concerned . . . but such is life and we learn to accept. hehe

Anyway - I will not drown you in detailed instructions or explainations on how to put all your pieces together. Since I am a very visual person, and so are many others I know, you are going to put your blocks together using these pictures. If you don't quite understand them - please, please contact me for help. The piecing at this point is very simple as long as you follow the pictures - you should not go wrong. I will tell you how many of each block you should have at the end for the quilt you are piecing . . . that will be a big help for you in figuring things out. So here you go! Hope you like the end result as much as I do!!!

Ok - so I'm still not great with the graphics - but this is your guide to making your blocks for the quilt. It is a simple 9-patch . . . IF you place your "X" blocks and rail blocks according to this pattern. This is important!!! If you make a mistake - do the 'frog' stitch and do it again. Piecing this block is important in making the overall pattern for this quilt . . . as you will see. I still use a picture or diagram when piecing many things so it comes out right. Makes things easier in the long run . . . for me anyway and hopefully for you as well. :-)

Once you get you blocks pieced you should have 9 for the lap quilt and 20 for the twin. Now you get to put them all together! And here are the diagrams for this - ok - graphic pics. hehe The pics include the border and the binding - which you have your strips already cut out for. *VBG* Remember? We cut them early on during our 'trip'. You should have from Color 3 - 6 (8) strips cut at 1.5" for the border and from Color 1 - 6 (9) strips cut at 4.5" for the binding. So you are all set now to finish your quilt. Are you ready? Ok - here it is!
