For each set of 4 blocks, you'll need 1 large square and 4 small ones. Take the finished width measurement (without seam allowance) of your unit and add 1 1/4" to it. Cut your large squares this size. For the small squares, take the finished side measurement of your triangle and add 7/8" to it. Cut your small squares this size. Example: 4" by 2" geese would need a large square 5 1/4", and small squares 2 7/8". Lay 2 of the small squares in opposite corners, draw a diagonal line through them, and stitch 1/4" on each side of the line. |
Cut apart on the line and press the smaller triangles out. |
Lay another small square in the corner of the larger triangle and draw a diagonal line. Stitch 1/4" on each side of the line. Repeat with the other large triangle. |
Cut apart on the diagonal lines, press, and you have 4 geese. WOW! Fast and painless! |
